Here's your first look at the new boxart for Nickelodeon's iCarly 2: iJoin The Click video game. Set for Wii and DS release, the game puts the player in the role of a new student, who will interact with the usual favorites from the iCarly TV series.

"One of the unique characteristics of the show and a key factor in its success is the show's interactive integration of its fans," said Activision's David Oxford. "With the program continuing to reach new ratings milestones and with our first iCarly game being very well received, we've developed a fresh new take on the game that allows fans to immerse themselves in the world of iCarly and to fully interact with its awesome cast of personalities."

The game is set to release this fall.

Nintendo slashes prices of DSi and DSi XL

Looks like Nintendo is prepping the world for the upcoming release of the Nintendo 3DS handheld, because the company announced price drops for both their DSi and DSi XL handhelds.

Nintendo will cut the price of the $169.99 DSi to $149.99. The DSi XL will drop from $189.99 to a mere $169.99. The DS Lite will remain at its $129.99 price point.

Both price cuts go into effect on September 12th.

I often find that placing my condensation creation cola on a nice wooden table will result in an epic fail of mass proportions. Luckily, Etsy user LittleMommaErin's took care of preventing my circular ring of death with a lovely set of Super Mario Bros. 2 coasters!

Sonic Colors screen shows off Red Sonic

SEGA has released a new Sonic Colors screenshot that shows off the original speed demo along with a Red Sonic. What does it mean?

It could be the reveal of a multiplayer mode, based on the two separate energy tank levels at the bottom portion of the screen. However, the timer at the top could indicate a race of sorts. Red Sonic could just be a "ghost" character, similar to Mario Kart's time trial mode.

Body of King Koopa's Ancestors Discovered

See that picture? That is none other than the skeleton of a new meiolaniid species, Stupendemys. Its shell was ELEVEN feet long and SEVEN feet wide. Combining its fortress like body with its clubbed tail and horned head, gamers can only assume one thing...

The Koopas were real.

The Kappa has some similar features, but it's a water spirit which conflicts with the fire nature of the Koopas.

Cryptozoologists/dorks believe that Bowser and the rest of the Koopa family were originally modeled after Kappas of Japanese folklore. However, the much more reasonable world of science gives us all the evidence we need to conclude that eleven foot turtles existed alongside humans as recently as 3,000 years ago.

Their ability to throw hammers and breathe fire is still under skeptic debate.

Capcom USA/Europe's New President

Video game developer and publisher Capcom has an outstanding legacy in gaming's history. These are the people behind series like MegaMan, Street Fighter, and Devil May Cry (just to name a few). In hopes of continuing their legacy of greatness, Capcom has elected Kazuhiko Abe as president of their USA and European divisions.

Abe joined the Capcom family in 2003 as their General Manager of Management Planning and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Capcom Japan in 2006. As President of Capcom USA and Capcom Europe, Abe will be responsible for overseeing operations between the two offices to ensure efficient international operations.

“Abe-san has proven to be an invaluable asset to Capcom,” said Kenzo Tsujimoto, chairman and chief executive officer of Capcom Co., Ltd. “His experience of over seven years with Capcom can only benefit the operations in North America and Europe and strengthen the relationships between the Japanese and Pan-Western territories.”

In video game land Capcom is kind of a big deal and for them to have so much faith in Abe is, well, a big deal. So here's to hoping Abe can bring Capcom to the top of their game!

Real life Mario Kart for Portland's bicyclists

Bananas? Check. Speed boosts? Check. Someone has taken their love for Mario Kart to the streets in Portland, Oregon.

As shown in the above local news report, a stretch of road reserved for a bicycle lane has some Kart-centric items laced throughout. It wasn't the city's doing, and it's unclear if Portland authorities plan to cover up the iconic gems. What I do know, is that a few symbols on a bike path are hardly more of a distraction than say, your average "slow down" sign. Well, maybe that pesky banana. That would make me swerve.

My vote is to add these symbols to all bike paths nationwide!

With Nintendo's upcoming 3DS handheld just months from releasing, fans are getting eager to play one of the many new games already announced. Between new titles like Kid Icarus Uprising and Mario Kart 3DS, to revamped favorites The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Star Fox 64, the handheld plans to offer something for everyone.

One fan proved his excitement of the 3D capable device by depicting the above scenario of Star Fox and Zelda characters coming together for the sake of the 3DS. Pretty inspiring!

Does Nintendo's software release schedule indicate a December 3DS launch?

Around this time of the year, Nintendo often givens us a look at their upcoming software titles for the next quarter or so. However, their recent software schedule may be more revealing than initially thought.

The Big N announced an absolutely stellar line-up of triple-A titles at this year's E3, yet nearly all of those games are being release between now through November 21st. This leaves a big, open window for December. If only the company was planning a big console launch; oh wait!

The upcoming Nintendo 3DS handheld is scheduled to release prior to March 2011, but a release date has not been confirmed. Based on the company's software schedule, I think it's very likely we can expect a December or January launch for the handheld. A specific 3DS release date is expected late September.

Until then, continue theorizing.

This fall, prepare yourself for the follow-up to last year's creatively addictive title, a game that will 1up its predecesor in every way. Super Scribblenauts for the Nintendo DS will not only bring with it new words, but the ability to throw adjectives in front of words. Madness, I tell you!

Shutter Island game for DS outed by ESRB

If not an official press release, then leave it up to the ESRB to out an unannounced game to the masses. The ratings board has details posted about an upcoming Shutter Island game being developed for the Nintendo DS.

The game is said to be a puzzle game, taking place at the eerie Ashecliffe Hospital featured in the hit film. As a U.S. marshal, your job is to solve the many mysteries of murder that plague the hospital.

While it's not an Inception game, at least one of Leonardo DiCaprio's puzzling flicks will get the game treatment.

They produce sounds at different pitches as they spin together, creating a beautiful harmony. This is called a pentatonic scale. Depending on where they live, Lumiloop plankton that produce several different sounds have been identified.

Description: Resembling delicate snow crystals, Marine-Crystal plankton float elegantly on the surface of the water. The plankton get their name from their distinctive snowflake shape. They grow in clusters of 35 and line up in very orderly formations. When stimulated, Marine-Crystal plankton spin and produce vibrant sounds. While the plankton do grow in size if they are repeatedly tapped, they gradually return to their original size over time. They are born in four polygonal shapes: triangle, square, pentagon and hexagon. The ends of the crystalline protrusions also take on the same shapes. The tone of the sound they make will change depending on the shape of the Marine-Crystal plankton's body.

Description: Varvoice plankton memorize the sound of human speech and repeat it over and over. They accomplish this amazing feat by oscillating the long flagellum that extends from their heads. By resonating the vibration with their water-droplet-shaped body, the plankton produce sounds that closely resemble the human voice. The body can expand and contract at will. By changing shape, they can easily manipulate the sound of the voice. Words that the Varvoice memorize and play back in reverse have a particularly strange ring to them. Researchers refer to this phenomenon as Varvoice inversion.
