Mirror's Edge 2 being developed, says EA

It looks like the year of sequel announcements, if E3 was any indication. Aside from Left 4 Dead, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Super Mario Galaxy (the list goes on) EA has just announced that Mirror's Edge 2 is officially in development.

VideoGamer.com broke the news after speaking with Patrick Soderlund, senior VP of EA Europe. Soderlund stated, "we have a small team on it and I'm excited about what we do."

Despite being innovative, the first Mirror's Edge was hardly a huge success, neither critically nor sales wise. "The game wasn't perfect by any means," Soderlund said. But EA is devoted to making the sequel better and learning from their mistakes.

Taking risks is always appreciated by the gaming community. Good job, EA!

Thanks, 1UP
