Sony is celebrating 15 years in the video game industry, as the company's first console PlayStation celebrates a milestone. Released on 9.9.95, Sony's entrance into the video game industry took place at a time when Sega and Nintendo were dominating forces. Not many could have guessed that Sega would leave the hardware market behind becoming solely a publisher and developer.
Since its release, Sony has gone on to release their popular PS2 and PS3 consoles, as well as several iterations of their PSP handheld. But we can never forget that it all started with the original PlayStation.
