Reggie Fils-Aime talks Metroid: Other M, E3

Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime spoke recently with Gamespot about next year's Metroid: Other M. Reggie promises this game will go back and bring more of traditional Metroid title feel, compared to the Prime trilogy.

"Since the SNES Metroid, we haven't broken through in terms of 1.5, 2 million units, and that's our bar," Fils-Aime stated. To make this a reality, Reggie wanted Samus to be featured in a more traditional lineage of Metroid, with a harder edge and a deeper story. Because of Nintendo's teaming up with Team Ninja to work on Other M, Fils-Aime said he has already been approached by other companies who are looking at similar partnerships.

Aside from Metroid, Reggie also talked about E3 and the goal of bringing great titles to the casual and core. "What we need to do is create compelling experiences across the entire spectrum of consumer types," he said. "For us it's all about opportunity and all about what we can do creatively with a franchise to revitalize it."
