Several attempts have been made over the years to get a Marvel Comics MMO title up and running, all of which haven been in vain. Until now... (Hopefully). The powers that be at Gazillion Entertainment are taking a swing at delivering the Marvel MMO dream and they are placing their faith in industry veteran David Brevik to make this dream a reality.
So what's Brevik's pedigree? Well, Brevik lead the development of the first two Diablo games AKA two of the most coveted games in all of nerd-dom. He also pioneered Blizzard's Battle.net system and later served as president of Blizzard North. Not too shabby.
"I'm a huge fan of comic books, superheroes, and MMORPGs, so the chance to lead the creative efforts for the Marvel Universe MMO is an amazing opportunity," said Brevik, adding, "Gazillion's mission to bring MMOs to the mainstream while maintaining the depth in gameplay that enthusiast gamers demand is something that deeply resonates with me. Marvel is a perfect fit for this mission."
With opposing titles like DC Universe Online and Champions Online hitting stores well before Marvel's MMO, Brevik and team have their work cut out for them.
