The Google Chrome browser has been wildly popular since its release less than a year ago, yet that was only the beginning of "Operation: Take Down Microsoft."Google has announced that they'll be releasing a new and free open source OS, the Chrome Operating System. Chrome OS will be targeted at netbooks, a wide open market that really consists of the 9 year old Windows XP and Linux OS. Naturally, however, Google plans to bring this new OS to portable and desktop PC's.
Designed to be fast, lightweight and simple, Google Chrome will undoubtedly give Microsoft a few possible heart attacks in a market that was once theirs and theirs alone.
