And Let There Be... a Bible MMO

Mark your church calendars for September 6th because that's when the beta for The Bible Online goes live. The Bible Online: Chapter 1 - "The Heroes" is a browser based MMO that puts players in control of Abraham and his descendants Isaac and Jacob. The gameplay looks to be Sim-City(ish) in nature, with a major focus on balancing resources as you navigate your way through the events of Genesis.

Dr. Alan Kim, president of FiAA GmbH says, “The Bible Online is developed for players of all ages to easily get closer to the Bible, while enjoying the game. The Beta is planned for the 6th of September. We plan to service the game in most of the European languages by the end of the year. We will also develop following chapters to cover all the stories of the Bible.”

Every story in the Bible? I don't know how kindly parents will take to certain side quests like "Help King David collect 200 enemy foreskins so he can marry Saul's daughter." (See 1 Samuel 18:27). But then again, I'm not a parent.

The Bible Online is free-to-play, compatible with all existing browsers, and starts beta testing in to weeks. According to on FiAA GmbH employee, beta testing will continue until "It is finished."
