First Metroid: Other M review is "impressive"

When Metroid: Other M ships August 31st, many of us are just going to be happy to return to Samus Aran's universe. After the third in the trilogy of Metroid Prime titles released a few years back, many didn't know when we'd get another chance to revisit the franchise.

Famitsu got their hands on the much anticipated Team Ninja project, and they have a lot of good to say about the game. They praise the sheer amount of moves you are able to accomplish within the game, especially given the limitations of using just the Wii Remote by itself. "Switching to first-person instantly takes some getting used to, but you can use it in both exploration and combat and it gives the game a very fun Metroid-like vibe," said one of the reviewers.

The only real negative Famitsu came up with was the game's difficulty. "The game's tough, making you wish for a difficulty selector at times," said one writer. Unfortunately for me, I've always found the Metroid titles extremely difficult in terms of "what the hell do I do now!" But aside from a few Google-searches, it sounds like Other M is going to be everything fans want it to be.

Other M releases next Tuesday.
