DSi plus DS equals more than all consoles combined
Those who thought Nintendo lost their handheld touch since the Game Boy might need to take a look at the sales charts for June. In the U.S., the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi combined have sold 766,000 units, the majority of which were DSi handhelds. That number is actually more than all other consoles combined.
But don't feel too badly for the Wii. Although behind total DS sales, the Wii enjoyed its 21st consecutive month being the number 1 home console.
Additionally, Nintendo has more reason to celebrate. Wii MotionPlus has sold 374,000 units, all without a Nintendo title to push it. So far sales are based on stand alone units and those bundles of the peripheral with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10. Once Wii Sports Resort ships July 26th, I'm pretty sure they are going to be bathing in money.
