A Boy and His Blob Detailed

Thanks to the folks at Joystiq, the Nintendo Power article about the brand new A Boy and His Blob Wii game has been released in full. Literally 19 years have passed since the original NES game debuted in 1990, a game which I used to love.

The new 2D adventure game, developed by WayForward, will be hand drawn and includes the same gameplay of throwing jellybeans to your blob friend, who then morphs into different objects to help you on your way. From ladders to bubbles, your blob is your savior.

The game looks absolutely beautifully drawn. This is the exact reason why I just said 2D needs to make a big comeback. Bravo, WayForward!
