There are only a handful of games so far in this console generation that I keep coming back to again and again, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is definitely one of them. I can play for dozens of hours with a single character, or sometimes I'll just start a new character and pursue a different career path. And occasionally, I'll just run around seeing how many people I can shank before being overwhelmed by town guards.
The wealth of downloadable content for Oblivion has only added to its longevity, and Bethesda has released a list of the game's top selling DLC on Xbox Live. You'll find examples of both the best and the worst of added content on this list. The infamous horse armor is just useless unless you want to turn your gaming experience into nothing more than a cosplay fantasy. (Which sometimes I do. This is why I own Final Fantasy X-2.) But the epic Shivering Isles expansion is actually more involving than any other section of the game.
But looking at this list, it seems most Oblivion players are just interested in buying new places to hang out.
Here you go:
1. Wizard's Tower
2. Thieves Den
3. Mehrunes Razor
4. Spell Tomes
5. Vile Lair
6. The Orrery
7. Knights of the Nine
8. Shivering Isles
9. Horse Armor
10. Fighter's Stronghold
