It's officially, official. SEGA has issued a press release about the upcoming game! Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games will release in late 2009 for the Wii and DS. The game is being developed by SEGA of Japan, with assistance from Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto.
The game will feature a ton of new events, such as Alpine Skiing, Speed Skating and more! The Wii version of the game will in fact use the Balance Board for many of its events.
The previous Olympic installment sold over 10 million copies worldwide.
"SEGA has been a valued publishing partner of Nintendo for many years and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games is the ultimate representation of that relationship," said Reggie Rils-Aime, Nintendo of America president.
