When Capcom released the zombie slaughterfest Dead Rising, it was an Xbox 360 exclusive. This wasn't so much do to any agreement hashed out with Microsoft so much as the fact that the PlayStation 3 hadn't come out yet. Which is why it was no surprise that when Dead Rising 2 was announced recently, it was listed as a multiplatform release. But a statement by the game's producer, Keiji Inafune, during the Capcom podcast complicates things a little.
"Please expect new Dead Rising and Lost Planet titles. While they will be on multiple platforms, we are thinking about having the 360 version play out differently," he said, before throwing down a smoke bomb, laughing maniacally, and disappearing in a cloud of vagueness.
So, Dead Rising 2 isn't exclusive to the 360, but something about it might be? I don't know, I just report the stuff.
