Red Xbox on the Way?

Nothing gets my unnecessary expenditure juices flowing like a new console color. Every time Nintendo releases a new DS in a slightly different hue, I toss my ugly old white/blue/gold one at the nearest soft spot on a baby's skull and head down to the local Everything's $130 for a new system. Well, those babies better be on the lookout, because word on the street is that a beautiful red Xbox 360 is just around the corner.

An intrepid Toys R Us employee has turned up a listing for a red Xbox 360 Elite in the store's computer system. Since it was rumored a while back that a red console would be released as a Resident Evil 5 promotion, this listing makes sense. There's no release date or indication of free pack-ins (say, a copy of Resident Evil 5, for example), but there you have it.

Personally, I think it's worth the $400 regardless of what comes with the thing. It's red, for Pete's sake! Red! And it'll match perfectly with its impending rings o' death!
