Video Game Voter Victory

Gamers are infamous for threatening to protest game related issues and never making it past an acronym filled blog post. To remedy this laziness, the Video Game Voters Network was born.

The VGVN's purpose is to make gaming related issues known to the public and to arm gaming voters with the resources they need to combat said issues. The coolest part of all though, is that it seems to be working.

VGVN members in Utah helped shoot down HB 353, which would undermine the ESRB rating system in favor of a much more stringent government regulation. Despite the ludicrous idea of government regulated video games, the bill passed smoothly through the Senate and House and rested solely on Utah Governor Jon Hunstman.

Gamers sent in over 700 letters to the good governor and let's just say that HB 353 is nothing but another notch in the bedpost of the VGVN. If you want to speak up for your video game rights (or send Governor Hunstman a thank you letter) head on over the the VGVN site and sign up today!
