Wii Get Scared by Dead Space

There has been a lot of hype around EA's Dead Space and rightfully so. The game brought scary back to an industry where Fatal Frame ruled the roost with its poltergeist photography and guys with scissors in clock towers were the things of nightmares.

With so much critical acclaim it wasn't a shocker when EA announced that Dead Space would be a series spanning multiple media (future games, comic books, animated features, and possibly films), but it was easy to be taken aback by their proclamation of developing a Dead Space game for the Wii.

The title is currently known as Dead Space Extraction and is a Wii exclusive prequel to the events of PS3/360/PC's Dead Space. Word on the street is that a playable female character will be introduced as well as multiplayer co-op.

Speculation is up for grabs as to whether this is a true FPS ala Metroid Prime 3, or a light gun came in the vein of Umbrella Chronicles. Regardless, the title looks to scare the pants off of a legion of make believe sports enthusiasts.
