Iwata Admits Wii Music Defeat

During a Q&A, which took place last week during Nintendo's Third Quarter Financial Results Briefing, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata spoke about Wii Music.

Iwata noted that Wii Music has not received the praise he thought it would. Iwata claimed that the game "elicits largely two extremely different reactions from consumers. There are people who highly anticipate it and those who do not appreciate it at all."

Likening the title to Brain Age, Iwata noted that the game could grow on audiences in time. It wasn't until the sale of Brain Age 2 that the first title really took off. He did say however that while Wii Music didn't meet it's sales expectations, it did sell very well.
