"Leggo my Halo!"

In Elyria, Ohio, a teenage boy killed his mother and wounded his father after they took away his Halo 3 video game. Daniel Petric, 17, was determined guilty. The defense wanted the judge to see the boy as guilty by reason of insanity, and even though Judge James Burge stated "...Petric had no idea at the time he hatched this plot that if he killed his parents they would be dead forever," the defenses argument was still rejected.

The attack on his parents was a planned event that was weeks in the making. Petric took his father's own 9 mm handgun and shot his parents. Petric, tried as an adult, could spend a life term in prison.

Daniel Petric's father, who survived the gun shot attack, has stated that he's forgiven his son. During the trial, he recalled the day of the shooting. "Would you close your eyes?" Daniel said to his parents. "I have a surprise for you." That's when Daniel shot both his parents.

After the shooting, the boy took off with nothing but the Halo 3 video game.
