Netflix & Xbox: The Love Fest Continues

Netflix recently announced that the company has seen a big increase in users due to the sluggish economy, mostly because people just don't want to leave the house and spend money. This has also helped Xbox360, because many Netflix users utilize the instant streaming function, where you can pick from thousands of titles and watch them from your console, all built in to the price of the subscription.

Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter claims that 800,000 Xbox Live members were Netflix subscribers when the streaming service launched on their console, but 200,000 have signed up because of its assesibility. Pachter claims that the Xbox Live Gold membership has been great for expanding the Netflix audience, as he expects "to see as many as 1 million join as Netflix members in the next year."

The service has been a match made in heaven for both companies. And with the upcoming release of a new LG TV featuring the same Netflix streaming capabilities, it seems like Blockbuster will soon be a distant memory.
