RIP Circuit City

According to a recent report by Reuters, electronics superstore Circuit City has fallen victim to "these economic times."

Unable to keep up with its competition (namely Best Buy) Circuit City has filed for bankruptcy after more than sixty years of hit or miss customer service.

But it's all a matter of perspective really. Negatively or positively this whole situation can be summed up in two four syllable words. We'll let the negative number crunchers at Reuters focus on the negative (ter-mi-na-tion), while we tackle the positive(li-qui-da-tion).

Go ahead and clap it out. While it is sad that so many people are losing their jobs, it's basically open season for the pasty skinned masses. It's a magical time when prices are slashed and your inner shopper can indulge itself. A time when you can stash that anime box set you've been wanting behind the bin of Dolly Parton's Greatest Hits CDs until the big "80% Off" stickers come out. Don't judge me, it worked with the Sam Goody fiasco a few years back.

Sadly, these dream come true price slashes don't apply to the Circuit City website. As of this posting you'll just get a solitary page that explains the state of the corporation. But seriously, this is the time to splurge and build up your video game, Blu Ray, or DVD collection. Hit it up quick before all that's left is the aforementioned Dolly Parton CDs (80% 0ff).

Be sure to tell them that One Life Gamer sent you. It won't get you anything, but who cares? They're bankrupt.
