Home Opening EA Exclusive Area

Playstation Home has been downloaded by 3.4 million people already, proving Home to be a popular feature for the PS3. Now, gaming companies are looking into how they can add to the service while serving themselves. Introducing "The EA Sports Complex," a new virtual environment that will debut this spring. This new area which will provide new content to the casual and hardcore gaming audience. The sports complex will offer exclusive multiplayer games, as well as leaderboards for all EA Sports games.

EA see's this as a perfect setup to have fans interacting with fans within their own environment. EA also states that it will continue to work on new projects within Home.

This will become another popular hangout within Home, especially for the sports enthusiast. Designating an area for a specific type of game can prove useful for both EA and Sony. According to Sony, already millions of items have been purchased within Home, from furniture to avatar clothing. While this sounds like a great way to unite the sports gamer, it's also a very clever marketing scheme. After all, what better way to market a product or item than to have your ideal consumers from your target demographic together in one room.
