Although it was rumored a few months back, Bubble Bobble Wii is officially headed to WiiWare.The title will be a 16-bit version of the classic arcade game. With over 400 stages, compiled of old stages, "arranged" stages and expert, there will be plenty of puzzle action for years to come. Downloaded content will also be featured, with new stages available to purchase.
The game will debut later this month in Japan, for just 800 Wii Points. You can play with up to 4 players, but it's unknown if there will be any type of Wi-Fi multiplayer.
The game looks great, and will probably be a great remake. I just can't help but think an 8-bit version would have been preferable, to me anyway. It's that 8-bit style that made the game what it was; one of the best NES puzzle games.
