Sonic's Next (Medieval) Adventure

Despite what has routinely been known as the franchise in hospice, I must say I'm intrigued by "Sonic and the Black Knight." It looks different than previous Sonic installments, but not in an unleashed "werehog" sort of way. I'm just overall interested, and curious to see what the game has to offer.

According to Nintendo Power, the game takes Sonic through the times of King Arthur. While the gameplay is mainly in 3D, it will occasionally switch to 2D for some much missed side-scrolling Sonic action.

For some unknown reason, Tails will be a blacksmith in the game. Also Knuckles, Blaze and Shadow will be different bosses, however once you beat them, they will become your friends. Each environment in the game will feature between 6 and 9 different missions. Some of the known areas are Camelot Castle, Molten Mine, Misty Lake and Titanic Plains.

While it could just be another whopping disappointment, I think there is some real hope for the game. "Black Knight" is a Wii exclusive, mainly because of the Wii Remote's motion capabilities, which suits sword fighting nicely. Also, the trailer not only features some great visuals, but what a soundtrack!

The game will be released in March in the US. Let's keep our fingers crossed for this one.
