Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage = Pretty

I don't want to spoil anything for you, but one of the main quest missions in Fallout 3 involves entering a virtual reality simulator of an eerily pleasant 1950s suburban cul-de-sac. It's one of the more memorable moments in a game filled to the mutated brim with them, and it's also a glimpse at what to expect with the first downloadable expansion pack, Operation Anchorage, which launches later this month.

Operation Anchorage is set up as a simulation of the famous fall of Anchorage, Alaska hinted at throughout Fallout lore. As such, you can be sure there will be plenty of snow, maybe an eskimo or two, and perhaps a cameo by Sarah Palin (unlikely). At the very least, it'll add a few more hours of play time to the 782 or so anyone who's played the game has most likely invested already. Best kiss your loved ones goodbye again.

Head over to videogamer.com for more and bigger screenshots. Like most good DLC, it'll run you about $10.

Oh, and I lied about not wanting to spoil anything for you. That's why I left your mayonnaise out last night, sucker.
