I'd never heard of it before reading this story, but apparently the third in the Magna Carta series of Japanese RPGs is headed to the Xbox 360. Hooray? The first game in the series was a PC release, and the second came out in North America on the Playstation 2 in 2005. There seems to be some confusion in this story, though, since the new 360 sequel is listed as Magna Carta: Crimson Stigma. Despite being an appropriately vague and nonsensical subtitle for a JRPG, Crimson Stigma sounds suspiciously like the original title of the PS2 release, Magna Carta: Crimson Stigmata (released in North America as Magna Carta: Tears of Blood).
Maybe this new one will be a remake. Or maybe the developers have run out of ideas. Or someone has his wires crossed. Who knows? The important thing here is that this game has nothing to do with 13th century English legal charters and everything to do with giant breasts, gianter eyes, and questionable fashion choices. Ah, JRPGs. I do love thee so.
